A platform for creatives, without generative AI
Why Tapedit Exists
Tapedit Studio was born out of frustration. As an independent musician, I wanted to promote my tracks on social media — YouTube, TikTok, Instagram — but creating music videos felt impossible. Professional video editing software is expensive, complex, and designed for filmmakers, not musicians who just want to share their art.
I tried everything: hiring freelancers (too expensive for every release), using AI video generators (generic results I did not feel connected to), and learning After Effects (months of tutorials for a 30-second clip). None of it worked for the pace and budget of an independent artist.
So I built the tool I wished existed: a simple, browser-based editor that lets you create professional-looking music videos in minutes, without sacrificing creative control.
Our Philosophy
Tapedit is deliberately not an AI generator. We believe the creative choices should be yours — which visuals to use, which effects to apply, how the text syncs with the beat. AI tools can be useful for specific tasks like transcription (we use Whisper for text sync), but the creative direction stays entirely in your hands.
Every effect in Tapedit — VHS, glitch, chromatic aberration, datamosh — is a parameter you control. Every visual comes from your own files or our curated stock library (Pexels and Pixabay), not from a neural network hallucination. The result is something that feels authentically yours.
We also believe great tools should be accessible. The free plan gives you full access to every visual effect and 500,000+ royalty-free media. No watermarks on your exports. No hidden limitations on creativity — only on volume (3 exports per week on Free).
Who Tapedit Is For
Tapedit was designed for independent musicians, but it has found a home with many kinds of creators:
- Musicians who want to promote singles, EPs, and albums with eye-catching visuals on every platform.
- Podcasters who need audiograms and video clips to share episodes on social media.
- Content creators who make mystery, horror, or narration videos with atmospheric visuals and synced text.
- Lofi producers who want that perfect aesthetic — warm VHS tones, slow animations, grain — without spending hours in a timeline.
- Anyone who has a piece of audio and wants to turn it into a compelling video quickly.
What's Next
Tapedit is actively developed and improving every week. We are working on new effect presets by genre (rap, lofi, techno, ambient), more dynamic audio effects, expanded template libraries, and a lifetime plan for creators who want permanent access.
